You are still missing the point. DNS does not do this, and will not
be made to do this, because it has been designed to serve a single
function, and that function explicitly excludes matters of topology
and geography BY DESIGN. In other words, these things were not left
out by accident, they were left out ON PURPOSE. They are not going
to be put in now for the same reasons that they were left out to begin
with: THEY DO NOT BELONG THERE. (Excuse my shouting, but I'm getting very
frustrated that you continue to insist that one of the net's basic mechanism
be horribly broken in order to address a problem that is far better addressed
elsewhere.) Similarly, existing routing protocols are also unaware of
geography ON PURPOSE, and your chances are convincing anyone to change
this are probably close to zero.

If you want to design a protocol to handle geographic information and write
an RFC to cover it, then be my guest. It might be a good idea, or it might
not; but you will have to solve a basic issue that *no* protocol will
solve for you: an end user must possess knowledge of their location (or
have an agent acting for them that possesses that knowledge). Unless
that information is available, the problem can't be solved by *ANY*
mechanism because it has nothing to work with.

In the meantime, I very strongly recommend recommend that you read
RFCs 1470, 1175, 1594, 1122, 1180, 1173, as well as those covering DNS,
RIP, BGP, EGP, and OSPF. And please, please, please stop suggesting
that DNS be bastardized and broken by trying to do this there, because
it's a really, really, really bad idea.
