If you are trying to get a URL changed, also give them the date that you
sent the change in.

This is what is "suppose" to be the "road to success". However, our
experience has been that this may very well work against you.

After the initial submissions, we sent emails to the stated URL on some,
telephoned per their help desk on others. Neither route generated any
response. We then took to the telephones to get to "human beings".
Finally, we succeeded in reaching a living, breathing Yahoo person. This
conversation was quickly leading no place, so we attempted to move up the
ladder. Finally achieved that, only to find what appeared to be a "clone"
of the first person. We made every effort to be "kind, cool, and calm"
during these conversations, but found the other parties to be "arrogant,
disrespectful, and generally unwilling to help".

Who knows? We are sitting on about 35 listings. We are not a "famous" web
design team, but we are capable. We feel confident that the majority of our
sites are comparable to their existing selections, but we understand not all
35+ will "cut the mustard".

We also were interested to hear that some webmasters disregard Yahoo as a
viable source of traffic. We find, through our statistics, the opposite.
Generally we will see a 30-50% increase in traffic, in most industries, when
we do get a listing in the right category.

So...life goes on. We will sit and wait, keep resubmitting, and keep hoping
that someday we will learn the "secret of Yahoo"!

Thank you all so much for your input, which we have filed for future
reference. We found the similar stories soothing, the opposite stories
interesting, and the ambivolent encouraging.

Denise Palmer
