At the risk of starting a huge discussion <G>, I just want to comment that
those products are not necessarily all they claim to be. Some of them have
been documented to block sites based on political preferences (National
Org. of Women has been blocked, for example) and not on the basis of
'morality' (but whose?).

And remember, 'blocking programs' cannot possibly keep up with the
proliferation of sites, nor can any parent (obviously). Trusting a piece of
software to 'protect' your kid from things on the net that you may find
objectionable is ludicrous and delusional.
