Hi
As expected, Ivan's question made me look at the Wingate settings once
again and finally I think I've understood one of the (major) options. I
found that I can redirect a call to the Wingate web server proxy, through
the firewall to a web server on my Mac (or any other computer on the
network). This means that I can now use my web cam on the Mac and send it
to the "outside".
I had been confused in the past as my Uni (ISP) has it's own set of
proxies, firewalls, volume charging systems, Autosocks etc that made it all
very confusing. I used my private ISP last night and it all became much
cleaner and clearer. :)
thanks for the question and the impetus Ivan!
Bruce
