I was surprised to see how many people are running at higher resolutions
(we typically design for 640x480). One question though is whether this
survey represents the general populace or just some skewed subset.

Our clients have started complaining bitterly about extra white space on
the right of their web pages and are asking us to design sites that can
stretch to fill their 21" monitor (easier said than done if your design is
tightly controlled at the pixel level). So much for constraining line
widths to make online text easier to read!
