I expect the hardest part is receiving emails - adding to correct ticket, attachments, encoding problems, etc. This page describes the different kinds of ticket systems well: http://linas.org/linux/pm.html I added an RSS feed to my tickets to get updates. Being able to enable email notifications easily would be neat.
