I'd like to start the petition for the release of a new version.

I've been seeing a number of problems that have been posted to this list
that all have the same answer, "get the latest version of [some file]
from the repository".

While this solution may sit well with some people, there are likely a
number of us (obviously myself being one of them) who are not able to
download individual files when installing webware. For myself, this is
because my company gives the client a list of software that has to be
installed on their machines. And telling the clients to install webware
0.8.1 plus version 1.27 of file X and version 1.13 of file Y, etc, etc,
etc is just not possible. And since having them install code that has
not been tested by us/me is not acceptable, telling them to pull the
latest version from the CVS repository is also not advisable.

Perhaps this is just being caused by my having to run webware on windows
machines. But even then I would argue that since the current release of
webware does not function as expected with the current release of the
win32all extensions that a change is needed.

I just spent the last few weeks in a wasted search for the cause of the
problem that was crashing all of my python processes. I didn't find the
solution until I gave up on that problem and started working on how to
get webkit to run as a pythonservice on NT. And even then I only found
the solution by browsing the repository looking for files that had
changed between now and the release of version 0.8.1 (It turns out that
signal.signal does not work with win32all release 163 or greater).
Perhaps there was a better way for me to investigate the problem, but
the fact remains that if there had been a newer version of webware that
included all of the recent bug fixes (most of which are a few months
old) this would not have happened.

Thanks for listening/reading and hopefully we will be seeing a new
release soonish.
