But making an official release gives everyone a lot more than just some
possibly working code. With a release the developers reach some kind of
agreement that the code is in a usable state, and when people start to
use it, those developers can know with a certain level of confidence
what code is actually being used. I've worked against both official
releases and CVS snapshots of Webware, but you can only make reasonable
guarantees of compatibility with the releases - it's hard to even
replicate an ad-hoc CVS snapshot, let alone support it.

P.S. Looking at the various changes made since 0.8.1, I'd recommend 0.9
as opposed to 0.8.2 as the version number.
