Yo David, I actually agree with this, for the reasons below but also for the sake of PR, too. When I was first browsing the range of available Python frameworks I happened upon Webware pretty quickly, but the version stated 0.8.1 and the page showed that it hadn't been updated since, like, August 2003. I first thought, well, dead project, and I was reluctant to give it a go.
I decided, though, that since everything in the (rather scattered) docs looked exactly like what I was searching for, I should give it a whirl, and so I sent an email to the mailing list. My question regarding Webware's maturity was quickly and helpfully answered by a number of people and I realized that the project was far from dead. Since that time I've implemented two projects with Webware with great results. Even though the new Web site design is up, and it is an improvement, it would still be nice to see a new version, however, if only to reflect a recent "last updated" date to the code and to encourage newcomers to give it a try, as well as giving it a "stamp" with a list of improvements and new features. This would be nice even if it was only 0.8.2. I see frequent news in Python Daily and in the Python Cookbook about Quixote or Nevow, and while I think these frameworks have quite a lot going for them, I've found Webware to be very intuitive, even slam-dunk for those familiar with Java-style servlets and MVC approaches, Struts or Spring. It would also be good to find out how development is currently going. Is there a central place to check it out? I just joined the webware-devel mailing list, but a central place on the Web would be good, some kind of "roadmap" to see where the developers minds are, how active they are and where things are going in the future, like possible integration with PEAK or anything ...
