I agree this is an amazing idea!! However, since I live 6-8 hours away, and am a technological troglodyte, I would be hard pressed to participate.
Also, wanted to thank everyone for your suggestions! I made the CD last night, and there's many group suggestions included...XTC, They Might Be Giants (that was a given), CCR, Beatles, Joni Mitchell (well, I AM an organic inspector, so I had to have Big Yellow Taxi...), Barenaked Ladies, Clash, Warren Zevon, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, and B-52's on it. As well as some other stuff...Mr. Organic suggested Izzy's Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World, and I came up with a few more (including Grateful Dead, and had to stop quickly from putting on Uncle John's Band on it....I think she'd love it, and I'm not too worried but I shudder to think what her dad-the-ex would think of here singing "God damn, well, I declare" at the top of her lungs, like I'd teach her... Saturday we head to the Reptiles and Amphibians day at the local Natural History museum to hold snakes and pet Gila monsters for her birthday. Thanks to you all for helping make it special.
