Follow-up Comment #6:

I played the scenario two days ago and the AI was not acting "too dumb". That
is it has conquered some of those villages in the south and then went for the
enemy. As Dave already said, it is a difficult situation for the AI to get
things correct in this scenario.

Basically I would say that this is not a blocker, "just" a matter of
"configuration of the AI is not working as good as the user expects it to".
