It is worth mentioning that APC now makes a stand-alone unit that does not
require a UPS or a slot. It simply provides an ethernet port, some dry
contacts, and a temperature/humidity sensor. The interface can be telnet,
SNMP, or HTTP/Web Based.

Yes, there is a way to monitor temps in the server room. I am playing
around with the alert testing on my device right this moment. We have a
device called a WallBotz that has an assortment of configurable services.
The device also has a camera and IP address such that I can log into a web
page and see the camera view of our server room. This is also where the
temp max would be set. We are still in the configuration phase of this, so
I can only speak on how I know it is supposed to work. Be interested to
hear what the rest of you have to say, though. The company that makes this
device is called NetBotz, I think. I'm about to post a message regarding
my notification testing woes. Hold on, people, and you can help me out,
too.

Thanks.................

Hi,

Is there anyway to monitor temperature in the server room and have What'sup
Gold page or e-mail if the temperature goes above certain level. With the
threat of rolling blackout this summer in California, I also want to
monitor
power from What's up gold.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Paresh
