slightly off topic .. but I have been using Wikispaces for the last couple of days -- which is widely touted as the most user friendly of the available wikis out there and I'm finding it so frustrating! it's hellishly slow, the WYSIWYG editing is as Leigh has mentioned earlier a real pain in the you know what, so much so that I keep reverting to txt editing because its so much quicker and more efficient way for me to express what I want, how I want ...
what i really like about most of the non-commercial, open source wiki offerings like MediaWiki out there is how for the most part they are great examples of keeping it simple, or is that "keeping it real" ...? I often half-joke with people that I'll be teaching my son wiki syntax before I teach him where to use a semi-colon or whether it's it's or its (which one is it by the way?) ... think of it as an extension of grammar, users are adding about 5 to 10 more grammatical constructs into their vocabulary -- if they can't do that, then perhaps being a teacher ain't really for them ;-) brent.
