Thanks. I wasn't touching anything. I was copying some files from the hard 
drive to a usb jumpdrive when the screen went black.

I saw an instance the other day with a Dell LCD monitor where a kid had
bumped the button on the front that controls the input source.  The screen
went black.  The computer did the usual start up stuff, but nothing was on
the screen.  I think this particular one has dual inputs -- digital and
analog, though.
