FWIW
My daughter got a call from Discover Card asking if she had charged $3300 at BEST BUY. Of course she had not as we do not have a BEST BUY here.
They explained the transaction showed the card had been swiped.
As both she and her husband had their cards in hand, it seems impossible that that could happen.
Discover explained that someone at someplace she had used the card could have copied the magnetic strip and made a new card,
They cancelled her cards and are expressing new cards to her.
They said this is not an isolated case and it is not her fault at all.
Has anyone had this happen?
I know you can buy a machine to make credit cards for $25,000.
But how do you copy the magnetic strip?
Connect a computer to your phone line that can pick up the message from your swiping machine?
Puzzled,
Sam
