So that's the kind of DVD burner was in question.  Do not have one of 
those.  If it burns directly to DVD, it must use some sort of 
compression.  Wayne, have you looked at it - what it is?

If you placed such a burned DVD in another unit, would still be 
recognized as a proper DVD format?
