If you placed such a burned DVD in another unit, would still be
recognized as a proper DVD format?
Since it has to be DVD playable then I would say it's still using
mpeg2 codec but reducing the bitrate & or frame size in order to
lengthen the video just as one can do in the Custom settings in Nero Vision.
