New laser should not do it, unelss it's bad. To be honest, I'm not
sure at this point if the PC CD-R/W burners are dual laser still - I
think so.
Some of the stand alone DVD players have been using a single laser to
play both CD & DVD. So I heard.
If it's that new, maybe warranty is the way to go.
