Al, once you retrieve your pictures, you might try a format of the card (in the camera -- it is different when you format it in the computer, and sometimes won't work properly after that, I understand), and then do some testing with it (taking pictures that don't matter). In my experience, they sometimes have corrupt areas that reformatting will resolve. Otherwise, try a different SM card. They are really cheap, and it might be worth the cost to get the camera working reliably again.
