$29.99 for 802.11b (11 Mbps) is way way way overpriced. Day after Thanksgiving I got a Netgear super G (108 Mbps) router + PC card bundled for $29.99.
Check the office superstore ads. They have wireless equipment on sale almost every week. You should be able to get an 802.11g router for $30 without trying hard. I do a lot of streaming of video on my LAN though. I would consider getting g rather than b at this point - a and b seem to be on their way out. g has the range of a with the speed of b (or is it the other way around? Either way, g is the best choice, cost being equal) On 7/24/06, Jim Dykes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > When I opened the message, I found that Alex Davidson had written: > > Least expensive wireless router I've seen so far is $29.99 (after rebate/s) > and it's a NetGear.
