I think there is a KB addressing the limited user issue with genuine
advantage problems... i have my own horror stories. Toshiba tablet pc
- early versions of the WGA tool could not read the reg key and verify
it as genuine. I not so nicely told a softie on the WGA team how bad
this thing sucked when it thinks the toshiba oem os is pirated (also
told them to go after toshiba if it was pirated, not me, since they
gave it to me as geniune). All i will add is that he has a very thin
skin.... and 6 monthds later, the tool does a much better job... my
only complaint is that i need to install a different tool for office.

I was instantly greeted that my Windows was not valid. (Bad key)
(Digital camera picture taken.)

When I logged off limited, the Welcome screen had a couple warnings
of the same thing. (I got a digital camera picture of that too.)
I then logged on as my Username Admin type.
My Windows somehow fixed itself, at least for "this user"...

"IT" seems to only happen in the Limited Account, and also just after
logging off it while not logged on to any account... It is repeatable...
