Seems the common denominator is the speed difference. The ps
might not be strong enough for the higher speed cpu, as Wayne
pointed out. Or the mb is not able to recognize that high speed
cpu and adjust accordingly, since it appears to boot from the
lower speed cpu. Perhaps one of the speed (or voltage) settings
in the bios on that mb is set to a fixed value instead of auto?
Or, if the mb is switching to the correct cpu speed, one of the
system components may not be rated for that higher speed.
