In some cases the unit's weren't overheating :-(

I setup WPA-PSK, it works, a few months later it stops working, with NO 
changes other than windows updates. I suspect that is part of the problem. 
However I've not seen this behaviour with any other brands other than Dlink.

Yes, I usually use it for laptops for most cases, keeps it simple especially 
in offices with multiple laptops particularly different brands, ie keeps end 
user documentation simpler.
