Well now I'm not sure what's going on with it. I installed the download
and it clearly idents itself as "beta". The company founder has yet to
reply to my question. But I'm still fairly confident that it will be free
after the beta. If they do what Pivx did a couple years ago (make it not
free and start spamming registered E-mail addys) I'll be very disappointed.

And now having used it a bit it doesn't take as much training as some
firewalls but still interrupts quite a bit at first. Oddly it hasn't said a
thing about Outlook 2003 which I think could be a bug. Also had to turn
off buffer overflow protection for telnet to keep from being disconnected.

And at first it looked like it would use 24-32 MB of real RAM but having run
for a while it's down to 8MB which isn't bad.

The only place I see 1.0.0 is under the graphic of the app & above
the Download Now.
I filled out the form that's req'd in order for one to download this
& was promptly sent an email with a link to download the app but the
email also states

>ABOUT BLINK PERSONAL EDITION (BETA)

>Blink Personal Edition is free of charge during the beta period.

>TECHNICAL SUPPORT
>Phone, email and web-based support is NOT PROVIDED for Blink

When I right click on the file I downloaded & select Properties then
the Version tab I get

So if it's not a beta then somebody has some serious work to do
editing every place that they use the word beta.

The online forum has all of 13 postings with none of the posting answered.

OBTW if you want to run this app on another machine you have to
re-apply for permission to download as that's the only way a SN is
generated.

Gee, it must have been about the paid version that I've heard about &
if one goes to the home page at <http://www.eeye.com/html/index.html>
that I bet like I you'll not even see Personal Edition mentioned
anywhere on the site. Not even a link to it from there nor from the
download page.
