Thought you now had the screen from the wife's PC - she needs a new screen.. Unless you get a new one for yourself, and return hers
Then again, you could always let her have the one that doesn't work Re 21" screen - check that, from your regular viewing distance, you can actually see all of the screen at one glance, (i.e. without having to consciously move your head /eyes to look at what's in each of the corners) And that you can get a suitable resolution on that screen, with your video driver/hardware so that the text doesn't appear uncomfortably large I'm using a 19" screen that does 1600 x 1200 physically - I.E. that many phosphor sets on the crt, and an equivalent video board. I also have a system with a 19" Hansol crt that does the 1600 x 1200 physically, but it's electronics only do 1280 x 1024 - I.e. they are the same as those in the 17" screen Also - have you considered a (True) HD TV as a display - HD signal is 1080 lines! of 1920 pixels Now's the time to spend!! - maybe not wisely or justifiably, but nicely JimB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Dykes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2006 4:01 AM Subject: Re: Monitor Problem > When I opened the message, I found that James Button had written: > > > Re the replacement display > > who gets the replacement 17" LCD one? > > Don't follow you on the above, Jim. > > Any recommendations on a 21" monitor? > > Best I've seen around here (and there isn't anyhthing around here) is a 19" > LCD flat panel by HP.
