Yes, with one caveat, it must come with the same warranty as a new item or be 
so much cheaper than a new item that you could be a second refurbed item if 
the first one dies and come out even or ahead in $$$.

That's another of those almost religious arguments ;-)

One of the arguments is as follows, I'll let others enumerate the other 
arguments...

It's commonly said by some engineers that if something electronic is going to 
fail, it'll probably happen within 90 days, after that you are probably okay 
statistically speaking for the bulk of the device's expected lifetime.  The 
corrollary to all of this is that if it's refurbed, it's likely been past the 
initial high likleyhood of failure period and will probably do you just fine.
