NonProfits are typically a good avenue for that and many will issue a tax 
donation receipt for the fair market value (at least here in Canada).  I've 
done this for several of my clients.  The nonprofits get working hardware and 
the for profit company (or private person) gets a tax write off, win-win 
situation and nothing in the landfill.
