Having read the other posts, I am inclined to suspect a BIOS or BIOS
chip problem ! I had one a machine (Desktop) that behaved just as you
describe. Turned out that the machine had a slow to read BIOS chip !
The boot process didn't wait quite long enough before it skipped a test
and then just hung. The only way to get out of that was to power off
and on ! Since its in warranty, bang it back and demand a
replacement machine !
