The substance of your msg was that NeTraverse needs to support
Mandrake 7.2. Can't help you with that but...

Nothing from Netraverse but pclinuxonline.com have everything you need
to get Win4Lin v1.0 or v2.0 running with Mandrake 7.2. I'm not sure
what patch you tried to apply but I've applied the 2.2.17 patch and it
works fine. If that doesn't work for you, download the compiled
kernel.

Whenever you patch a kernel you should set up the new kernel as a
separate boot option from the old one so that this is not a big
problem. As for "screwed up pretty good", the only thing a bad kernel
should do is prevent you from using it. In short, before diddling
with your kernel, make sure you've got floppy boot and lilo options
that let you recover.

I don't disagree but lots of us are running Win4lin in association
with v7.2. Check out pclinuxonline.com
