Richard,
I think one way to look at this issue, and I hope the way that NeTraverse
might be looking at it, is that a 'major' upgrade ought to add 'major'
value. I know the software industry does not always operate that way,
preferring to put users on a treadmill to continue to generate revenue.

That said, as a user I would certainly consider paying for an upgrade
when I understand what value I'm receiving. I think it's a bit early to know
what's included here, but 2.4 support for the sake of being up to date with
the latest and greatest kernel doesn't fit for me. There's no value there
for me. I acknowledge there may be for others.

Let's hope that NeTraverse makes significant headway in the reliability
of their product. I'm running 2.0. It crashes repeatedly. Currently I'm not
convinced that 2.0 was really much better than 1.0, but that's just me and I
am sure others feel 2.0 was a big push forward.

With best regards,
Mark

Oops, sorry about the August thing. I got confused by the press releases
on their web site. Since 2.0 didn't come out until December, that changes
things a little.

Generally, I wouldn't expect any free upgrade policy to go back more than
30-60 days. But since the 2.4 kernel was released in January, and W4L 2.0
was released in December, damn, I just don't know...
