As long as you patch your 2.4 kernel with win4lin support, things should be
fine. The installer will check for the presence of a win4lin enhanced kernel
before doing anything else. And as before if you are not running a standard
kernel from a supported distribution, you'll have to patch the kernel
manually to add win4lin support.

And the current installation method will still be available for those who
need it. Although adding Slackware support to a future version of Win4Lin
would be an equal solution. 

I can't believe I just went there, encouraging additional distro support.
Hopefully our developers will forgive me.
