It is probably better to use the Linux version of RealPlayer, which
works quite well (only available in the free version).

Actually the Unix/Linux version of Speak Freely has been available for
at least five years (http://www.fourmilab.ch).  Debian has packaged it
and probably other distributions have also done so.
