Please switch back to the tags. I was going by what we were doing in some older projects where cutting tags was done
only once and that too after the VOTE was final. Looks like the incubator docs recommend the tag approach. So, sorry, my
bad.

This is BS. I NEVER vote a +1 on anything unless there is a tag there

I can confirm that the tag and what I'm voting on matches. The Maven
plugin
is based around that idea. It tags the source and then build all the
artifacts from the tag so you are 100% certain that the released
artifacts
came from the tag.
