Winona] Wal-Mart

Dean,

You should have shared the entire story, for it on to say that not one of the illegal workers were Wal-Mart employees.  All of them came from a national employment agency who was under investigation by the INS.  Illegal employees can be found in any town.  Even Winona.  Not everything can be blamed on Wal-Mart.  This is much more of an immigration issue.

Subject: [Winona] Wal-Mart

Following is the first paragraph of a news story I just read on-line this afternoon.

WASHINGTON (Oct. 23) - Federal officials arrested more than 300 illegal workers at 61 Wal-Mart stores across the country early Thursday morning and searched the Bentonville, Ark., office of one of the retail chain's corporate executives

Is this really the type of business practice we want to encourage to locate in Winona?
I think not!
