As a farmer for 28 years now I disagree with you. Those of us who still have the small farms will be able to make it work if we work.  I don't know who told you that 1,000 acres is needed to make a profit in agriculture.
I do agree that the dairy industry will become big business and that is very sad. I like the fact that we 'know' our cows. If one loses her neck chain with the number on it, we still know what stall she belongs in.
Please do not tell me that the farms in Wilson township or any township are obsolete because they are less than 1,000 acres. I am a farmer and I know better.
Linda Fort

It would appear that the future of food production is going to be handled by super-sized farms.  They will either be owned by the big food producers or be under contract with big farmers.  People that I know in the ag business indicate that 1,000 acres is now the minimum size required to support a single farm.  Agricultural production has moved into big business whether we wanted it to or not.

Bob and All, In this instance I agree with Linda, Who would be helping to feed the country if the Farmers are taxed out of existence. Would you like to pay triple for Groceries? I know I wouldn't but if this annexxation and others throughout the Country That's what could and would happen.   Bob Kaldunski
