[Winona Online Democracy]

I think that part of Ruth's point was that even semi-adequate monetary compensation--say, enough to cover some of the related child care expenses-- might make it more possible for some willing and talented citizens to serve on boards. For some people, being able to pay for daycare is a make/break issue.
