I agree completely with Daren and others. It would benefit the entire community
to have all government bodies working together instead of pointing fingers and
bickering. What is the issue with all government bodies sitting down and
coming up with a protective land plan (bluffs, streams, sensitive land) that
all three governments are equally responsible for? Is it cost? Is it control?
Is it responsibility or lack of it?

Regarding cost, it seems to me it would be more cost effective to have 3
governing bodies coming up with one protective plan than 3 individual plans
that resources are spread so thin on that none of the ordinances get
affectively monitored. Control? It seems to me that everyone wants control of
the land but not the responsibility to take care of it. Or they may not mind
the responsibility, but again, do not have the financial or physical resources
to handle the responsibility.

Does coming up with a comprehenisive plan that all governing bodies are
responsible for seem too overwhelming? Someone educate me here, I really don't
understand. Is it simpler to have the City set ordinances regarding bluffs in
City limits, but on those same bluffs that abruptly end at the City Border, the
County or Township set a different set of ordinances? Does it make sense on a
stream that flows through an "Island" of land owned by the City, have different
rules to follow than that same stream that flows through the Township? It
makes no sense to me. It is like kids cheating at a game, they set the rules
that benefit their own personal gain. Let's get together here. For once let's
have all governing bodies do it right. Janice Turek
