Cherisa has said it best. Now, let's work
with our school board for the benefit of the students.

vote
[Winona Online Democracy]
Every student who lives in an apartment pays property taxes- it's their
rent money paying them. Every WSU student who grew up in the
Winona area has a very good reason to vote - they know their school district
better than most of us. Every WSU student who plans on staying in Winona
after graduation has a vested interest in this community and our schools.
The logic used to say they shouldn't vote should also be applied to very
old and dying people - they won't be around to pay the bill... How about
people who know they will be moving in a year or two - they won't be around
either. People in nursing homes shouldn't vote - they don't pay property
taxes... Who else should we disenfranchise? 18 year olds living at home
with Mom and Dad? Who else? Good Grief!
I am so sick of the whining from the people who are against this
referendum, the school board, and the district in general. So many of
their letters to the editor were ignorant, misinformed and just plain
nasty! And now to complain that the school board wants to completely
balance their checkbook and know their exact financial standing before they
spend our hard earned money?!? How dare they! Must be a
conspiracy!! Surely we've been lied to!
Give it a rest people.
