I never thought I'd live to see a parking ramp built, either. By the by, have you all been down to Fifth and Pelzer to gawk? They have one big concrete form erected (at least I think that's what it is)...they are working. The city is bifurcated by the tracks. We need at least three overpasses or underpasses...Huff Street being the most significant for commuters. Louisa has the potential to replace Mankato as a feeder for traffic into the central city if it has an overpass...but I'd still like to see a grade seperation on Mankato, as well. We have always been conservative in this community about making these kinds of infrastructure investments...I think too conservative sometimes...those who think all government spending is wasteful I don't think have paid attention to the Winona experience. Again, by the by...the city is asking for $150,000 for planning money from the state for a permanent home for GRSF. We need to have a discussion about what prime piece of riverfront this important part of our community might take...let's not have it sprung on us.
