John Finn,
Thanks John, typically those kinds of personal shots are
reserved for mayors, city managers, or school superintendents. I'm
honored.

Bob Sebo,
Yes the preliminary thoughts are that the tracks would be raised
approximately 4 feet. That raise at Huff Street will aid in the
pedestrian underpasses at Johnson and Winona also. The combination of
improving three crossings was well received by the Railroad and all
members of congress with whom we have communicated.

What are the real reasons behind this project?

1) Federal Funding

2) Trying to gain support from students for the other important
transportation related projects that should be done and are needed and
will
be voted on.

A better way to gain the support of the WSU community and also a
transportation issue item --

Multiple parking ramps on the WSU campus to eliminate all daily street
parking by commuting students around the campus. Talk to the students,
faculty and residents abutting or on the campus.

I hadn't thought of the Huff underpass as a bone thrown to the WSU
community
to gain support for a sales tax increase, but that could be. I kind of
thought it had more to do with our public works director's commute from
Wincrest to City Hall.

As for WSU parking ramps: Not to discount the importance of academic
programs, but what makes or breaks an institution of higher learning
these
days is the availability of convenient free parking.
