Which version of Ubuntu?

Because Ubuntu 4.xx requires at least 128 MB of RAM, and
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS 256 MB minimum.

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS has a wide coletion of drivers, and that's a point in favor.

It requires a definition of "old PC". My old P I /120 MHz w/
64 MB RAM that runs happily on 98SE canot even boot the older versions
of Ubuntu.

A distro better suited for older PC's seems to be Puppy Linux. My old PC
ran happily the old versions of Puppy and Knoppix. I have not tried the
newest one.
