IMHO, this might be true of Fortune 500. But there's an awful lot of 
small, medium, large and even very large organizations that don't run 
Exchange, have a minimal IT department, think VPN means visible panty 
network, etc etc. There's an also an awful lot of self employed and 
contractors, who wear suits but are their own IT dept.

I'm not denying that for some corporate types, this is not an issue 
because they have an IT dept that knows what they're doing. But the 
problem still exists for everyone else. And exists even for them in 
terms of getting their home email from their home ISP.
