Yes. For instance....... In my little town, the local hospital purchased the practice of a long time doctor. Building and all. The building was in a residential area, single story with basement. Had a few other offices in the building. Hospital decides to "remodel" a portion of it soon after the purchase. It was winter........ Oooops! Someone left the kerosene jet type heater on when they left! Burned to the ground...... Oh, but now we can build this NEW multi story building right next to the hospital to replace it!
