#1 For WSPR band hopping.  Both for different power levels on the bands due to
rig/antenna variability plus separate tuning power.#2 To prevent what happened
to me...where I blew out the finals on my rig when I was operating remotely on
15M because the SWR was too high and so was the power level from WSJT-X.
Unfortunately rig wasn't smart enough to curb power (it's in the shop now).  I
had left the power level at 25W which was too much for the bad SWR on my 15M
band right now and, of course, couldn't see the power meter remotely.
Personally, I never touch the rig power level.  It stays on 50W and I do all
power adjustment from the slider as it's much quicker than messing with the rig.
There were several requests on the group for such a feature.
It's an option for those that need it.

Mike --

Could you explain the rationale behind this suggested feature?

Why might I want WSJT-X to remember particular power output settings on
a band-by-band basis?

Why would I (in general) want to adjust my power output by using the
slider on the WSJT-X screen, rather than by making an adjustment on the
transceiver itself?

To what fraction of our users might such a feature be important?  (I
have seen no clamor in favor of it.)
