and remember that WSJT-X is available Worldwide. Personally I am not prepared to go to jail for the sake of users, who can meet the terms and conditions for installing the OpenSSL package themselves, not having to fetch a package from the Internet.

AFAIK these days it is only a matter of filling some forms for the relevant US Government Departments to allow distribution of string crypto but I have no idea which departments or forms are required.

For those that cannot meet the US export restriction terms and conditions the sample files are easily downloaded from the SF files area so long as they can find a browser that has strong enough encryption to access the SF web servers. I would hope that the SF mirrors for those restricted areas are using weaker encryption because of the same regulations.
