Joe,

Thank you. Indeed I did not have auto clear turned on. I have always had it on
until recently. I had found, when Lance was trying out contest mode using your
new software for his trip, that I had decodes (average) when I had it turned
off (and no AVG DEC when on). NOTE this was while listening so I’m receiving a
decode most every even cycle from Lance but I also want to decode those calling
him (odd).

So – questions if I may please (I just re-read the manual to be clear this is
not addressed there):
1) Does average apply to each of multiple signals in the window?
2) Is there a separate average queue for 1st and 2nd sequence? (would be great
if RXing both looking for stns)
3) And if so if auto clear is on does it only clear the averages for those that
have now decoded or
4) if only one decode comes in and there are say 3 stations there (in the
averages)) do all the averages now get cleared out?

I assumed 4. Which is why I turned off auto clear since if it is 4 above it
would never do an averages if Lance always decoded. And as mentioned I went
from 0 averages in the AVG DEC window with it on to several ongoing with it
off.

Hi Gary and Don:

Those are not false decodes. They are not spurious decodes. Evidently
you have "Enable averaging" turned on, but not "Auto Clear Avg after
decode". And you did not do a "Clear Avg" manually. Not a good plan,
generally, for the type of operating you are doing. You must learn to
use these tools -- it's not all automated, nor could it be. The
operator is important, and must make informed choices.

Like all other settings, the "Save all" setting is specific to each
Configuration you have defined.
