Hello all, We keep track of all inquiries (and leave them in as data) to measure our marketing success, looking at our inquiry rate against applications sent, aps received, presented, approved, and funded.
We don't follow up on customers that don't return their applications. We will, however, follow up on folks that miss their appointments (made after an application is received) with one phone call and one letter, which gives them two weeks to respond. Sometimes (such as now, while we endure a bus strike) there are legitimate reasons why people don't make it. We also recognize Melisa's observation, though, and don't spend much time pursuing our no-shows. We do not hand out applications prior to the appointments. During the Inquiry phone call or walk-in they are invited to attend a mandatory one-hour orientation where we discuss the program requirements and the loan process in greater detail. During the orientation they are given a list of items they must bring in to their application appointment. If they do not have all of these items we will not go through with the appointment. The applicants that are serious generally bring in everything to their scheduled application appointment. This also saves us time and paper.
