Blue Hills Trail update...
With sunny skies this afternoon (Monday, February 19), temperatures
reached the low thirties, and it was a lovely day to be
outside. The EastSideTrail skating lane was texturized today (Monday,
February 19), providing excellent conditions -- enough
of a loose surface to allow great edge control, great glide, and FAST
skating. The striding track remains well-set.
During the past week, grooming of most of the EastSideTrail (segments
that correspond to the race course) was
performed Monday evening February 12. The WestSideTrail was groomed the
next evening (February 13). To fine-tune the
skating surface and striding lane for the weekend, the EastSideTrail
(all but section 1-to-2) was groomed again Friday, February 16. And as
noted above, the EastSideTrail skating lane was texturized again today.
