Blue Hills Trail report...
On top of bare ground, snowfall December 22
dropped two to three inches of heavy, wet snow.
Temperatures fell overnight, light snow fell December 23, and overall
this provided fairly decent striding on 2 to 4 inches of snow on untouched
trails that same day. Since parts of the trail (details at the website)
were packed for skating Monday afternoon (December 24), skiing in some
areas is very nice, in other areas it "isn't too bad." Rock skis recommended.
Because of low snow conditions, caution is recommended
on downhills.
The same portion of the trail system that was packed December 23 will be
rolled again today (Friday, December 28). Other parts of the trail may be
packed by snowmobile.
