Blue Hills Trail update
Fun late afternoon ski January 10 with temperatures near 30 degrees F, skating on hardpack, with conditions ranging from very good to poor.  Due to 48 hours of above freezing temperatures, conditions have deteriorated -- but the little snow available has held up well in some areas and the skiing was fairly fast.  The base remains limited, in many areas offering enough cover to provide surprisingly good skiing.  On some sun exposed hills, conditions have become borderline for climbing, and safe descent requires walking.
